Butler County MetroParks – March Activities

Print Friendly

Butler County is home to the amazing MetroParks park system which includes over 3,000 acres of parks, offering visitors many opportunities for outdoor recreation fun, education and access to historical sites.

Lucky for us parents, the park system offers lots of great events and activities for families.  Following is a quick snapshot of some of the things they’ve got going on in March.

————————————————

Wild Wednesdays- Guests can enter any MetroPark for free on Wednesdays during the month of March! No motor vehicle permit to sled at VOA, take a winter hike or just drive through and dream of warmer days!  Check the website at www.metroparksofbutlercountyohio.org for a complete listing of open parks and hours.

VOA Walking Club kicks off first walk on Saturday, March 6th at Voice of America Park at 9am.  Walk for Fun, Fitness and Friends.  All ages and fitness levels welcome.  Walks will continue every following Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday weather permitting.  Check the website at www.metroparksofbutlercounty.org for a walking log and more details. Free

The MetroParks’ Green Team is forming a volunteer group for the Voice of America Park.  Come for an informational meeting on Thursday, March 25th at 7pm at the VOA Lodge for more details.  Volunteers are needed for many things like parking at special events, helping with programs, checking on fishermen, planting, watering and much, much more! No experience necessary! Come to enjoy the experience and experience the joy!

Editor’s Note: While we try our best to be accurate, sometimes event details/information can change. We highly recommend our readers visit the website of the business or event we’ve written about before taking any action.

The last couple of events that I and our organization participated in at Governor Bebb, the public out houses smelled so bad that myself and a couple of other members from our organization actually threw up in them du to the sickening stench. Also, wonder why there was no lights in them. They were very clean and had paper.

There’s an event there this weekend and I sure hope that you will treat the outhouses or set up port-a-lets for us volunteers and the visiting public, soon to be asked to vote on a tax levy.
