What's Up This Weekend {April 10 & 11}

Local forecasters are predicting another beautiful weekend so why not get out and enjoy the city with your family?  This weekend there are plenty of family friendly activities taking place across Cincinnati and we’ve picked out a few of our favorite. Because we are not all knowing (don’t tell our children), we’d love to hear from you if you have an event or activity you’d like to share with FFC readers.

Zoo Blooms (Avondale) – Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden unveils more than 80,000 tulips. Cost to attend, $14, $9 children and seniors. Details: call 513-281-4700 or visit http://www.cincinnatizoo.org.

Saturday Circus Class (Clifton) — This Saturday from 9am – 10:30am the My Nose Turns Red Theatre Company hosts circus classes at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center. Open to children ages 7-16; Cost is $120, $90 siblings. Registration required. Visit http://www.mynoseturnsred.org or call 859-581-7100 for more information.

Community Tennis Lessons (Hebron, KY) – This Saturday from 9am to 1pm Boone County Parks kicks off a series of tennis lessons open to all ages. Cost is $65 for five lessons; classes take place at Conner High School. More information is available at (859)283-5331 or online at http://www.familytennisacademy.com.

Teen Advisory Group Book Sale (Florence, KY) – This weekend the Florence Branch Library hosts it’s Teen Advisory Group book sale. Items for sale include books, movies, audiobooks and other library materials.  Event is open to the public; Hours are Saturday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. & Sunday from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. For complete details visit http://www.bcpl.org or call (859) 342-2665.

Cincinnati Nature Center Bird Walk (Milford, OH) – Calling all future bird lovers! Stop by the Cincinnati Nature Center at Rowe Woods Saturday from 8am-10am for a little bird watching. Attendees should dress for the weather and bring binoculars. Cost is $5, $1 children; free for members. Heritage Village Museum (Sharon Woods) – You’re children will enjoy touring 11 historic buildings depicting family life in the 1800s. Open Saturday 10am – 5pm & Sunday, 1pm to 5pm; Cost is $5, $3 ages 5-11, free ages 4 and under and members. Kite Fest (West Chester) – WGUG 90.9 hosts Kite Fest at the Voice of America Museum and VOA Park this Saturday & Sunday from Noon – 5pm.  Fun includes a kite building workshop, parachute run and plenty of kite flying.  Visit http://www.wguc.org/kitefest for additional information and to check out video’s from last year’s event.     Thanks for the reminder about Kite Fest Katie. We’ve added it. Certainly going to be a great weekend for it.

    We went to Kite Fest last year with our then 4-month-old and had a great time. We hope to take her back this year though the hours are not as great for afternoon nappers … Best thing is it’s FREE!
