"Meet Me At The Fair"

July 25, 2010 By FFCStaff

It’s that time of year.  Time for the county fairs!  Does you family love the county fair?  Mine does.  We love the rides, animals, showmanship, food, tractor pulls, demolition derbys, food, plus arts and crafts.  Did I mention the food?  Yes, we eat our way through the fair.  To us, it isn’t a successful visit unless we have had our funnel cake.

The Butler County Fair will be held July 25-31 at the fairgrounds in Hamilton.  The fair is in its 160th year!  The fair hours for the week will be 8 A.M. to 11 P.M. Monday through Saturday.  Sunday the fair opens at Noon and closes at 11 P.M.  The admission cost is $8 for adult, children 6-12 are $1,  5 and under are free.  The admission cost doesn’t include fair rides or grandstand events.  You can check out the prices for the grandstand events here.

Hamilton County Fair is being held this year from August 10-14 and is being held at the fairgrounds.  The fairgrounds are located at 7801 Anthony Wayne in Cincinnati.  On their site you will be able to find out information about entering projects, becoming involved and volunteer opportunities that are available.

Boone County is holding their fair August 2-7 at the fairgrounds in Burlington.  The cost of admission for the fair is $8 for anyone ages 3 and over.  This includes all grandstand events and rides.  Kids 2 and under are free at the gate and are charged $2 each per ride.

I honestly can’t wait for the fair!  Well, let’s be honest, I can’t wait to EAT my way through the fair!  Funnel Cakes, Gyros, and frozen bananas here I come….

[…] Kandi’s post last week about the local fairs got me thinking.  I’ve NEVER been to The Ohio State Fair.  No state fairs actually – what a sad, sheltered life I’ve been leading?  Not to mention, as Amy in OHio, surely I owe it my STATE to celebrate this annual ritual of cows, bunnies, rides and funnel cakes.
