Museum Center Giveaway – Learning Through Play Scholarship (Closed)

On March 19 the Learning Through Play conference returns for it’s third year to the Cincinnati Museum Center and we’ve got a scholarship to giveaway!

Focusing on children in kindergarten and younger, this unique, one-day event explores how you can use play as both a parent and professional to get the most from your interactions with children. They’ll have more than 20 sessions with knowledgeable presenters such as Happen, Inc., Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and Cincinnati Museum Center.

Families

Bring your little ones to Family Interactive Sessions and learn together. Discover how to get the most from story time, explore the magic of light and shadows with puppets, learn the benefits of signing with your child and more.

Parents

Adult-Only Sessions offer great tips on how to create science experiments that don’t break the budget without blowing up your kitchen, raise kids to be self-disciplined, and how to help your child become a successful reader. Participants will also take a guided tour of Duke Energy Children’s Museum to identify what skills are developed and what your children are learning when they play.

Win a Scholarship!!

One lucky Family Friendly Cincinnati reader will win a voucher good for four (4) free Family Interactive or Adult Only session registrations (does not include parking or lunch). Contest closes at 4pm on Monday, March 14th, with the winner announced that evening.

There are several ways to enter, you can do one or all of them for additional chances. You must leave a comment for EACH one you do:

  1. Tell us one of your favorite ways to play with your child
  2. Subscribe to our eNewsletter (Top Right)
  3. Come hang with us over on our Facebook page.
  4. Tweet  about this giveaway (include @famfriendlycin)

I love reading with my children. My (almost) three year old daughter has been reading with me since she was 8 months old. She brings me book after book. We could read all day to each other! Now that she has a baby sissy she enthusiastically reads to her. I know both of my children are going to be very smart and love reading, and school. It’s one thing I would tell all Mom’s to do is read to their kids. I’ve seen other children that weren’t read to through their childhood and now they’re struggling in school, hating homework etc. READ TO YOUR KIDS! It’s worth it. Plus, who doesn’t like the anticipation of what’s going to happen at the end of the story?! ;)

P.S. We get lots of our books at free stores or large yard/church sales. We have hundreds of books so it never gets dull.

We have the most fun dancing together. My son is 26 months old and loves physical play.

I love singing with my kids, especially the alphabet. You can sing it with different songs, sing it with the sounds, sing it with words that start with the letters. Lots of ways to mix it up and keep the kids on their toes.

I love playing with my daughter on her ride-on toy. She’s too little to make it go on her own, so I give her rides all over the house on it. She squeals with laughter and my heart if full of joy!
