I remember my one visit to the circus as a child. I wanted to be an acrobat SO badly! Watching them fly back and forth so effortlessly, the adorable sparkly outfits….a young girl’s dream! When you say the word ‘circus’ it sounds exotic and dashing and magical and just so FUN! I’m happy to say that even as an adult the magic is still there, and it’s even more contagious when you are sharing it with your kids.
The Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus is a spectacle not to be missed. So much to look at, to marvel at…so many amazing feats to witness! Hilarious clowns, talented performers, adorable animals…it’s truly a feast for your senses. We were fortunate enough to visit the circus on it’s opening night and to meet some of the ladies of the circus who just happen to be moms as well. These families live as part of the traveling show, their kids go to the nursery or school during show hours, and the whole family lives together either on the train or in trailers/rv’s as they travel from city to city to perform. My kids are ready to join up now! How exciting can it get? Visiting so many different cities, seeing so many different people, and being a part of the Greatest Show On Earth as well! I don’t kid myself, these ladies and their families work hard…beyond their duties to the show they still cook their own meals, do their own laundry…everything the rest of us do on a daily basis. How can you not have a huge respect for these working families? Amazing!
There really is something for everyone in this show: Acrobats of every variety, amazing feats of strength, hilarious clown antics, daring stunt driving, fantastic animals! My kids were mesmerized throughout the entire show-even intermission!!
