Summer is almost here and that means there will be lots of kids enjoying some pool time. Nothing beats jumping into a refreshing pool on a hot summer day but before your kiddos take the plunge, having some basic water safety under their belts is one of the most important things they will need. After reading Shannan’s post on National Water Safety Month on MommyBits about the importance of water safety and then getting the information from the YMCA about YMCA Splash!, I wanted to make sure we got this information to our readers.
Lucky for Greater Cincinnati, there will be 9 local YMCA of Greater Cincinnati branches providing FREE water safety classes for kids ages 6-12 years. The YMCA emailed me that they are providing “water safety lessons for children and their parents with hopes that through education we can help to prevent drowning and other accidents. YMCA Splash! lessons will run from May 31 to June 10 with varying dates/times per branch.”
