We would like to take you behind the scenes at Family Friendly Cincinnati and introduce you to the fabulous ladies who write for this blog. Over the years we have all shared with you some of our favorite things to do and see around town. Now we want to take a moment with a little Q&A to let you get to know us each a little more!
Family Friendly Contributor: Shannan Boyer
My Family: Shannan, Marty, my MIL Marge and two boys, 7 & 10
Started writing for Family Friendly Cincinnati: Came up with the idea in February 2009, launched it in August that same year.
Where you can find me on the web: Working in PR I spend a lot of time on local news sites. I also enjoy Mashable, TechCrunch and Wired. My personal blog, which lately has been somewhat neglected, is
www.mommybits.net.
Our family’s favorite local hangout: We love
Reality Tuesday. We’ll typically head there after dinner once every couple of weeks for a slice of cheesecake. The boys love Grandma Hampton’s cookies. We also love to stop in
The Candy Bar in MainStrasse Village.
This business/organization is important to our family: Camp Ernst. We started sending our oldest there three years ago. We’ve done Family Camp over Memorial Day weekend for the past two years and it has had huge impact on our family. It’s something we’ll be doing together as a family for years to come.
How I spend my “Mama” time (when I can find the time): Watching episodes of Mad Men (it’s my latest obsession), taking long walks, reading, volunteering.
When I’m not blogging you’ll find me: Hanging with the kiddos, boating, camping, watching bad TV
A local non-profit that is close to my heart: Summerfair Cincinnati. Many people know the organization for the Fair they put on each year but it’s so much more. All of the money they raise goes right back into the arts community providing support for small arts organizations, future artists and artists themselves. Having both a mother and step mother that are artists, the arts are something I value tremendously. It’s a wonderful organization and I am honored to be on their board.
We love you Shannan B!
