The holiday season is here. There are so many festivities throughout Greater Cincinnati, that we thought we would focus on some of the holiday events happening north of Cincinnati. This week we are featuring my hometown of Mason & Deerfield Township. The events are listed in chronological order to help you with your planning. Mason/Deerfield Twp.:
Lifetime TD 10K – 10K or 5K run/walk – Nov. 28 – Run starts at 8 a.m. Race benefits the Mason Food Pantry and The Lifetime Foundation. Click here to register. My husband and daughter are excited to do the 5K walk this year.
Deerfield Township Annual Tree Lighting – Sat. Nov. 30, 5 – 7 p.m. at the Deerfield Towne Center – 5503 Deerfield Boulevard, Mason, OH 45040. Festivities include a petting zoo, arrival of Santa on a firetruck, holiday music an more. FREE.
Deerfield Township Annual Menorah Lighting – Dec. 3, 5:30 p.m. – Lighting of a giant Menorah, Chanukah treats, live music, petting zoo, and more! The 12ft. Menorah will stand next to the Christmas Tree at the Towne Center -5503 Deerfield Boulevard – FREE.
Santa’s Workshop- Deerfield Township – Sat. Dec. 7, 10 a.m. & 11 a.m. sessions – Open to Deerfield Township residents only. Get your picture with Santa, & make some holiday crafts. FREE with advanced RSVP. Sad to say that my girls have graduated from this event but we really enjoyed it in years gone by. For ages 3- 8 years with a caregiver.
Shop Local – Mason Community Center – Dec. 4 – 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. – Get a start on your holiday shopping and meet some great local vendors – FREE admission.
Mocktails – Mason Community Center – Dec. 11 – 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. – Sample some great holiday mocktails – FREE.
Christmas in Mason – Dec. 6 – 6-9 p.m. – Hosted by Festivals of Mason – – This annual nightly festival is filled with holiday cheer. Enjoy a traditional and family friendly event celebrating the start of the Christmas season. This charming and festive event on the first Friday in December celebrates the spirit of Christmas and is sure to warm you as you stroll the streets of downtown enjoying the sights, sounds and smells of the holiday season. The festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. with the Christmas Parade featuring the Santa Paws dog parade entries, the Christmas in Mason Pageant winners and, of course, Santa Claus.” FREE.
Breakfast & photos with Santa – Skidaddles Mason – Dec. 7, 10 a.m. – Noon – FREE (with parent attending) – also see their Preschool Open House. 5939 Deerfield Blvd, Suite 104, Mason, Ohio 45040
Family Christmas Weekend – Prasco – Dec. 13-15 – Prasco welcomes the community to their holiday celebration. They will have ice skating all three days, and FREE Photos with Santa on Sat. Dec. 14 from 12:00 pm – 9 p.m.– Reservations Required. Reservations taken beginning Monday November 18. Please return to prasco.com to register for your visit with Santa! Ice skating will be from 6-9 p.m. on Dec. 13, Noon-9 p.m. on Dec. 14 and 2-6 p.m. on Dec. 15.
A Christmas Carol – The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati comes to Kings High School on Dec. 15 at 3 p.m. for this holiday classic. Tickets are only $2 and kids 2 and under are free (cash only please). Hosted by The Arts Alliance & Deerfield Township – 5500 Columbia Road, Kings Mills, OH 45034.
The Nutcracker All Jazzed Up – Mason Dance Center performs at the Mason High School – Sun. Dec. 15, 1 & 4 p.m. 100% of the proceeds benefit the Mason High School After Prom. Tickets go on sale on Nov. 18 and will also be available at the door.
Dine in the Gingerbread House – Great Wolf Lodge – Nov. 15-Jan. 1 – ” Make your holidays a little sweeter when you dine inside our life-size gingerbread house. Each reservation is $10 and will be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters.” Reservations can be made by calling 513.459.8885.
- Photos with Santa & Mrs. Claus – December 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 22, 23 – “Join Santa, Mrs. Claus and their Elves in the Grand Lobby! Photos will be taken from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.! Each family will receive a complimentary photo. ” (from Great Wolf Lodge Mason). Call 513.459.8885 to make reservations.
- The Great Clocktower Show – Daily – 10 a.m., 8 p.m. & 9 p.m. – FREE. Nightly story time at 8 p.m.
- Snowball – New Years Eve Celebration – Dec. 31 – For hotel guests.

Hi Michelle, you are right, it did have the info originally. The FFC site underwent some maintenance over the weekend and the post did not transfer. I ended up having to split up the info. I hope to get the other events listed in another post if I can find the time. 🙂
