The UnMuseum at the Contemporary Arts Center is on of the most unique and creative places for kids to explore and play in Cincinnati. Not only are there interactive installations that encourage children to have fun while experiencing art in a hands on way, but they also have superb programs for children and families. In the past we’ve attended the Thursday Art Play and I wrote about the fun we had in a Family Friendly Cincinnati post. Henry and I both loved our adventures at Art Play, so you can imagine my excitement when we were offered a chance to visit a Family Festival recently.
We went to Family Festival Saturday when they were celebrating the art of the photographer JR, who had an exhibit at the CAC. The activities for the day were Black & White Polka Dot t-shirts, camera necklaces, camera cookie decorating, a photography themed storytime and a cool photo booth. The activities were obviously put together with a lot of thought and creativity. Ms. Liz, who plans and creates the activities for the kids always has the most unique ideas for hands-on fun!
Family Saturday events happen each month on the 4th Saturday of the month from 1-4pm at the UnMuseum, on the 6th floor of the Contemporary Arts Center. The program is open-house style, so you can come anytime during the event to join the festivities. And after you’ve had your fill of fun at the UnMuseum you can walk around the Contemporary Arts Center and check out other cool exhibits going on. The cost of the Family Saturday event is free with paid admission to the Contemporary Arts Center.
The Contemporary Arts Center is located at 44 East 6th Street, Downtown Cincinnati. Check out the Contemporary Arts Center website to find out about more special events and exhibits, hours, admission prices and more!
Disclaimer :: I was given passes for the Contemporary Arts Center so that I could visit the UnMuseum’s Family Saturday event for review purposes. The opinions are most definitely 100% my own, I love going to art programs at the UnMuseum!
