If Kristin’s post yesterday got you in the mood for some travels by train, we have just the ticket! Lebanon Mason Montgomery Railroad hosts a Fireworks Train each year in celebration of the Labor Day festivities down by the river.
Enjoy Riverfest and the WEBN Fireworks without the worry of where to park (and the inevitable “crap, WHERE did we park?”). You can board the train in Norwood Eagles Train Station, sit back and relax. The train will arrive at the Montgomery Inn Boathouse downtown and from there you can wander over to Riverfest and search out a prime spot to catch the fireworks. Then, after the last blast has faded, head back to the train for another relaxing ride back to the Norwood station where your car awaits you. HELLO? No traffic? Excellent!
The cost is $25 per person (age 3 and up), but wouldn’t your train lover just flip for this? Plus you’ll save on parking. You are permitted to bring small (easily stored) coolers on to the train. You can find all the details for this fun at their site as well as order tickets. The train begins boarding at 5:30 pm, departing at 6:00pm on Sunday, September 5th and re-boards at the Boathouse starting at 10pm, returning to the Norwood Eagles Station at approximately 11:15pm.

I totally forgot to add that when we got our receipt from EnterTRAINment Junction, they had a 40% discount for tickets on the LM&M Railroad. So double check those receipts and maybe you can get a discount too. Not sure if would apply to the fireworks train but maybe for other train rides. This looks like a great way to enjoy the fireworks.
