In the coming months we would like to take you behind the scenes at Family Friendly Cincinnati and introduce you to the fabulous ladies who write for this blog. Over the years we have all shared with you some of our favorite things to do and see around town. Now we want to take a moment with a little Q&A to let you get to know us each a little more!
Family Friendly Contributor: Amy Q.
My Family: Our family consists of myself, husband Rodney and 2 very crazy boys ages 8 and 5…then there are the fur babies, Buster the chihuahua and Sophie the kitty.
Started writing for Family Friendly Cincinnati: I’m coming up on my 1 year anniversary in January of 2012
About Me: I am (at different and many moments of the day) a stay at home mommy, PTA president, room mother and total nerd who loves to read, craft, scrapbook, play the occasional video game and find new and fun things to do with my family. My main focus right now is to be involved in my children’s education as much as I possibly can and hopefully teach them by example how important it is to be active in your community.
Where you can find me on the web: When I’m not writing for Family Friendly Cincinnati you can find me at In a galaxy far far away
My favorite blogs to read: There are so many, but to name just a couple…..Soulemama and Confessions of a Pioneer Woman …not to mention all of the wonderful blogs of my fellow FFC contributors!
Our family’s favorite restaurant: My boys are grilled cheese connoisseurs and they both agree (and so do mom and dad) that Tom + Chee has the best in town!
Our family’s favorite local hangout: We love a number of local parks but the Crescent Springs Community Park is the boys’ favorite…nature trails and lots of room to run! We also love Lazer Kraze on a rainy afternoon.
This business/organization is important to our family: That all depends on who you ask: If it’s my oldest boy he’ll say Recycled Doggies (a great not for profit dog rescue…my oldest is an animal lover and wants to save them all!) If you ask hubby and youngest son they will probably say Skyline Chili (addicted, those two…let me tell you). I myself will probably have to go with Hobby Lobby (because without a crafty project my sanity is seriously questionable!)
How I spend my “Mama” time (when I can find the time): Reading, scrapbooking with my mama friends and trying very hard to catch up on episodes of Mad Men.
Favorite place to shop with (or for) the kids: I’m not big on shopping but my kids love Old Navy (fun shirts!) and when I get a chance to scoot up north a bit we all like a afternoon trip to Trader Joe’s.
When I’m not blogging you’ll find me: At my sons’ elementary school making copies for teachers and helping out in the classrooms in an effort to avoid all that lovely housework that piles up when you aren’t looking!
A local non-profit that is close to my heart: The Parish Kitchen and Welcome House

I echo Kristin’s comment. I am so glad that we met through our children and became friends. I attribute my boys obsession with Tom and Chee’s Pep + Chee to you and the post you did. We’d never would have eaten there if not for your post!
