In the coming months we would like to take you behind the scenes at Family Friendly Cincinnati and introduce you to the fabulous ladies who write for this blog. Over the years we have all shared with you some of our favorite things to do and see around town. Now we want to take a moment with a little Q&A to let you get to know us each a little more!
Family Friendly Contributor: Phyllis McCarthy
My Family: Married with 2 girls ages 7 and 9
Started writing for Family Friendly Cincinnati: in 2009
About Me: After having children, Phyllis sold her business clothes, turned in her pager, company cell phone and long hours to stay home with the girls and hasn’t looked back! This also inspired and made way for her passion for the difference nutrition can make in ones health which led her to the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in NYC to study nutrition and in 2008 launched Cincy Health Coach, a health coaching practice . After a 5 year leave from the airline industry, Phyllis returned to a flight attendant position and travels overseas a couple of times a month and still coaches clients who are motivated to lose weight and find more energy. This gives her the balance to be home much of the time while still fulfilling her passion to travel and help others with their journey to health. When the girls are home from school, they are finding creative ways to spend their time. This year it’s dance, art and Odyssey of the Mind. We also enjoy finding simple family friendly adventures near and far. You will often find her writing about food or other health related topics, though don’t be surprised if you see her kids with (insert treat of choice) because sometimes it healthy to throw out the “food rules” in the name of fun with friends.
