We had a reader write in, asking us to help get the word out about a very important fundraiser coming up on February 12th. The fundraiser is for a young girl named Sara Shinn who is in the middle of fighting, and beating, Leukemia.

Leukemia is a type of cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow, the spongy center of bones where our blood cells are formed. The disease develops when blood cells produced in the bone marrow grow out of control.
Sara’s family and friends are hosting a fundraiser at Champions Grille on Sunday, February 12th from 1 pm until 10 pm. Champions will be donating 10% of all sales to help Sara win her fight. In addition, they will be raffling off several locally themed gift baskets, Reds tickets, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra tickets, as well as gift certificates to laBella. There will also be an autographed basketball from XU’s Chris Mack, and an autographed football from UC’s Butch Jones to raffle.
All proceeds from these raffles will directly benefit Sara’s cause.
