Next Tuesday, August 27th is a very important day in our Muggle History. It is the 15th anniversary of the release of the first Harry Potter book by JK Rowling. I don’t know about you, but the Harry Potter books play a very important role in our family’s reading history. Both my husband and I read all of the books, and have seen the movies at the theater and own them on DVD as well. And we are slooooowly working our way through reading each book to the children. Even the youngest sits and tries to listen as we read these books! Every time we finish reading one of the books we watch that movie with them. We even have special Harry Potter movie parties in our living room to celebrate. But our family celebrations are nothing compared to what the Kenton County Public Library has in store for next Tuesday! This is a perfect day for your all Harry Potter fans to get together and celebrate together!
The Kenton County Public Library was one of only 15 libraries in the nation given a grant from Scholastic to host this day-long event for families and children of all ages to celebrate Harry Potter’s Anniversary. They have several different ways you can celebrate with them on Tuesday…everything from storytime to costume contests. Check it out:
-Babes in Hogwarts at 10 a.m. THIS EVENT Is FULL
-Owls with Raptors Inc at 5 p.m.
-Costume Contest at 7 p.m.
-Hogwarts Feast at 8 p.m.
All of these events will take place at the Erlanger branch of the Kenton County Library, and you can find all the details about these events on the KCPL Website.
