Does your kiddo love to play Minecraft? If you answered yes, you might want to check out Super League Gaming’s upcoming six-week after school league.

Starting October 6th, Super League Gaming is coming to Deerfield Town Center Stadium 16 (5500 Deerfield Blvd, Mason) theatre with its after-school program that brings Minecraft gamers together for a fun, and interactive learning experience that your Minecraft fan will love. Minecraft is already well known for its educational value, but Super League takes it one step further by assigning participants to teams of 4-7 where they work together towards a common goal.

How does it work? Each player (ages 6-18 recommended) uses their own laptop, enabling a first-person point of view,  and complementing the big screen’s bird’s eye view, which helps players strategize and see from a higher vantage point. The game plan includes several phases – Mayhem – a  free-for-all PvP battle arena; Build – a cooperative themed building session; and Crystal Crater – our unique cooperative game that is a resource survival competition.

So when can your child participate? Session dates are Tuesdays, Oct 6, Oct 13, Oct 20, Oct 27, Nov 3, and Nov 10. Fun runs from 4:30 -6:30pm.  Participants receive a free Super League jersey and prizes are awarded to top scorers. All games will begin at 4:30pm and tickets are $80 per season pass. That gives your child 6 sessions of Minecraft! Parents are welcome to stay and watch their children play.  

Please note (from Super League’s website): Each player will need a laptop (no mobile phones or tablets) with Minecraft version 1.8.X installed (with X being any number). They will also need their own unique Mojang account and Minecraft username in order to join a team and participate. Please refer to Mojang’s recommended minimum requirements for devices.
