There’s a beautiful old building on Dixie Highway in Fort Mitchell that has been home to several different restaurants since I was a girl. The newest restaurant to take up residence is the Fort Mitchell Public House, and after dining there several times I have a feeling that this place is “the one” and they are here to stay. The new owner of the Fort Mitchell Public House is not new to the restaurant business. In fact, he’s worked behind the bar for years at this very location, so he knows the ropes.
The Fort Mitchell Public House ~
The new owners have taken such care with the details when re-designing the interior of this restaurant so now when you walk it it feels & looks like an old pub in Europe. If it’s a nice day you can opt to dine outside on their shady patio. The service at the Fort Mitchell Public House is super friendly and every time we have dined there I’ve seen the owner right there working alongside his employees, tending bar, greeting guests and even clearing tables.
The Fort Mitchell Public House is a perfect neighborhood hangout with a menu full of delicious dining options and an interesting craft beer list. The menu offers traditional favorites along with some new menu items, and everything we’ve tried so far has been great. They have even kept some local favorites on the menu like the Margherita Flatbread and the Idaho Flatbread. I have also heard many people sing the praises of their Jambalaya, so that’s on my list to try next time we go. Whatever you are in the mood for, whether it be soups, salads, sandwiches or just a light appetizer you will find it at the Fort Mitchell Public House.
The Fort Mitchell Public House is open for lunch and dinner everyday, and brunch on the weekends. You can also call in a carryout order to pick up for an easy dinner. Here’s a few pictures of dishes we’ve tried to get your mouth watering…
