We were so excited to check out the new space that we were among the first to arrive. The restaurant dining areas are comfortable, with HUGE screen televisions so you won’t miss a minute of whatever big game might happen to be on. For parents who want to sneak out for a date night there is a very cool sports bar area with more big screen television action. We were seated at a comfortable table and proceeded to drool over all of the menu offerings. It was difficult, but we finally whittled down our choices.
First we got started with an appetizer – Three-Cheese Grilled Cheese Sticks:
This right here is the real deal. Every single one of us loved, loved, loved this appetizer. Even my super picky oldest son looked at me in amazement when he took his first bite. We shared, but I was tempted to play the “I’m the Mom” card and take an extra cheesestick. Soooo tempted.
Look at that cheesy goodness!
Next up – entrees. We all tried something different so that we had the chance to experience several different menu items. I’m so glad we did. We had the Short Rib and Cheesy Mac Stack, Bang Bang Chicken with Spicy Thai Peanut Noodles, Bistro Steak and Shrimp with Lobster Alfredo Linguine, and Goldfingers with fries from the kids menu. There wasn’t a single item that came to our table that wasn’t completely delicious. Take a look:
We enjoyed every single bite of our meals, laughed together, and talked about the games we were hoping they had in the game room. The boys were chomping at the bit to get gaming, so we handed off their game cards and turned them loose. There are so many fun games, it will really overwhelm you for a minute, but you get over that very quickly and the next thing you know you’re battling alien invaders or slicing fruit like a ninja.
I don’t know exactly how long we spent playing games, laughing, and having fun but it was a great time. Our game cards lasted a long time, and even though by then it was very crowded we never had to wait more than a couple of minutes for our turn on a game. There is no seating area on the game side, but there are high top tables where you can park and wait for your kids while they blast aliens or play skeeball. There’s also a winner’s circle area where you can redeem those lovely game tickets that come from some of the games. I thought my youngest’s eyes were going to pop out of their sockets when he hit the goal on a test of strength type game and got (drumroll)…..1000 tickets!
He’s now determined to save up enough to get a cool pair of headphones he saw in the winner’s circle shop. Guess we had better plan another night at Dave & Buster’s soon! We also really loved the air hockey table – I mean, check this out:
Did I mention giant Connect 4 yet?
And I can’t forget to mention this cool feature – they have a private party room that holds up to 90 people! Can you image the epic birthday parties that can be held in this awesome space!?
The truth is, we were all very impressed with the brand new Dave & Buster’s in Florence. It was comfortable, the service was fantastic, every employee we came into contact with was polite and helpful and just plain happy. The games were top notch and so much fun! The food was delicious, and with all of the options you can definitely fit a trip to Dave & Buster’s into any budget. We can’t wait to head back soon, play more games, and let’s be honest – eat more Three-Cheese Grilled Cheese Sticks. Because they were amazing.
