The family can get a little taste of the Big Easy when Krohn Conservatory opens their 2017 Spring Show, Blooms on the Bayou, on January 21.
Blooms on the Bayou is inspired by the colorful culture of New Orleans and the different aspects of the city. The displays will pay homage to New Orleans’ festive and lively side and also its eerie, although enchanting, swampy bayou.
The show will run through March 12, just in time for the real spring season to begin. But until then, journey through the beautiful and colorful flowers that will be on display, such as camellias, tulips, hyacinths, and ferns, all reminiscent of the French Quarter. Bring the kids and take a stroll down the boardwalk while gazing up at cypress trees, blossoming bog lilies, and the iconic southern Spanish moss. You can also explore the river shack and feel the rhythm of the Dixieland jazz in the traditional New Orleans courtyard, while surrounded by Crepe Myrtle and Magnolia trees.
Krohn Conservatory is located in Eden Park and Blooms on the Bayou will be open Tuesdays through Sundays from 10am-5pm and it is closed on Mondays. Adult tickets are $4 and youth tickets (ages 5-17) are $2. All children 4 years old and younger can enjoy the show for free.
This is certainly a trip through the Big Easy that you and the family will not want to miss. To find out more visit the Cincinnati Parks website.
